WEDNESDAY WISDOM

Be Aware of Those Around You

No matter how insignificant you may think they are

As this college student learned.
“During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions until I read the last one: “What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?”

Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman many times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name?

I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade. “Absolutely,” said the professor. “In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say “hello.”

I’ve never forgotten that lesson.  I also learned that her name was Dorothy”.

MONDAY MANI

This is the one product I often advise my client’s to use.  IT WORKS!  Formula 2 is the one most often suggested to clients with weak, soft, peeling nails.  Formula 3 for dry, brittle nails for those cooks and bakers.  They seem to wash their hands and dishes and clean the kitchen more often, thus drying out the nails because nails take on water.  Nailtiques 2Plus Formula is for those who’ve had a bad or long term hard gels or acrylics experience and want to go natural for a while.

My clients often say, ‘I want hard nails’, and I’ll advise, ‘No, you want strong nails’.  Nailtiques strengthens nails and not harden.  If used properly, the outcome for your nails will be where you want to go.  Of course, you can’t mistreat your nails and expect perfect nails.

Try it.

FRIDAY FAITH

Hope of Eternity

Isaiah 53:4-6 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.  But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.  We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all

(Matthew 18:11) “For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.

A FRIDAY FUNNY

Will the wedding French ever be too much

for any special day

Little boy was in a relative’s wedding.

As he was coming down the aisle, he would take two steps, stop, and turn to the crowd.

While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and roar.

So it went, step, step, ROAR, step, step, ROAR, all the way down the aisle.

As you can imagine, the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard by the time he reached the pulpit.

When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said,

“I was being the Ring Bear.

Make someone smile today:)

WEDNESDAYS WISDOM

Springtime trees doing their thang

Springtime in pink

Let us be on the watch for opportunities of usefulness; let us go about the world with the ears and our eyes open, ready to avail ourselves of occasion for doing good; let us not be content til we are useful, but make this the main design and ambition  of our lives.

~Charles Spurgeon

WEDNESDAY WISDOM, continues . . .

GOD through the eyes of a child

The following essay was written some years ago by Danny Dutton, 8 years old, who lives in Chula Vista, CA.  His assignment was to write about GOD.  It’s a little long, but so, so worth the read, a little at a time.

Continues from Wednesday. . .

Atheists are people who don’t believe in GOD.  I don’t think there are any in Chula Vista.  At least there aren’t any who come out church.

Jesus is GOD’s son, He used to do all the work, like walking on water and doing miracles and trying to teach people about GOD who didn’t want to learn.  They finally got tired of preaching to them and they crucified Him.  But He was good and kind and like Hid father and He told His father that they didn’t know what they were doing and to forgive them, and GOD said OK.  His father appreciated everything He had done and all His hard work on earth, so He did not have to go out on the road anymore.  He could stay in Heaven.  So He did.  And now He helps His father out by listening to prayers and seeing which things are important for GOD to take care and which ones he can take care of Himself without having to bother GOD.  Like a secretary, only more important of course.  You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to hear you because they’ve got it all worked out so one of them is on duty all the time.

You should always go to Sunday School because it makes GOD happy and if there’s anybody you want to make happy, it’s GOD.  Don’t skip Sunday School to do something you think will be more fun like going to the beach.  That is wrong and besides the sun doesn’t come out at the beach until noon anyway.  If you don’t believe in GOD, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can’t go everywhere with you, like camp, but GOD can.  It’s good to know He’s around when you’re scared of the dark, and when you can’t swim very good and you get thrown into real deep water by the big kids.  But you shouldn’t just always think of what GOD can do for you.  I figure GOD put me here and He can take me back anytime He pleases.

And that’s why I believe in GOD.

…and YOU?

WEDNESDAY WISDOM

GOD through the eyes of a child

The following essay was written some years ago by Danny Dutton, 8 years old, who lives in Chula Vista, CA.  His assignment was to write about GOD.  It’s a little long, but so, so worth the read, a little at a time.

One of GOD’s main jobs is making people.  He makes these to put in place of the ones who die, so there will be enough people here on earth to take care of things.  He doesn’t make grownups.  Just babies.  I think because they are smaller and easier to make.  That’s so He doesn’t have to take up His valuable time teaching them to talk and walk.  He can just leave that up to mothers and fathers.  I think it works out pretty good.

GOD’s second most important job is listening to prayers.  An awful lot of this goes on, as some people, like preachers pray other times than bed time.  GOD doesn’t have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this.  As He hears everything, not only prayers, there must be a terrible lot of noise going on in His ears, unless He thought of a way to turn it off.

God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere.  Which keeps Him pretty busy.  So you shouldn’t go wasting His time by going over your parent’s head and asking for something they already said you couldn’t have.

…to be continue.
