MONDAY MANI

Finally, we’re in the winter months. That means dry skin and hair! What are you doing to keep those hands and feet moisturized? At, DEW DROP NAILS, I emphasize the importance of wearing gloves when the temperature is 50 degrees or less. Lotions with oil base are recommended. If you like the scent of your favorite lotion, just add the oil of choice to this lotion in “another” small carry bottle. Or use the your favorite oil on your moist skin right out of the tub and then use your lotion for lasting fragrance.

Be kind to someone today.

WEDNESDAY WISDOM

HAND AND WRIST HEALTH

How do your wrists feel? Are they a little tired or sore from all of the work from home work(computer, iphone or stirring)? Our hands perform a variety of tasks every day, from gripping a steering wheel to typing on a keyboard. These repetitive motions can create weakness and stiffness in your wrists, hands and fingers. As a nail technologist, it’s my thumbs!

Practicing simple exercises can help prevent injury. Exercises can strengthen your wrists and keep your hands and fingers flexible. So here are a couple you can try right now:

Always speak with your doctor before attempting new stretches or treatments. It’s important to determine the exact cause of your wrist pain FIRST.

While standing, place your palms together in a praying position.

Have your elbows touch each other. Your hands should be in front of your face. Your arms should be touching each other from the tips of your fingers to your elbows.

With your palms pressed together, slowly spread your elbows apart. Do this while lowering your hands to waist height. Stop when your hands are in front of your belly button or you feel the full stretch.

Hold the stretch for 10 to 30 seconds, then repeat.

Next, extend one arm in front of you at shoulder height.

Keep your palm down, facing the floor. Release your wrist so that your fingers point downward.

With your free hand, gently grasp your fingers and pull them back toward your body.

Hold for 10 to 30 seconds.

How does that feel? Remember take it slow and never cause yourself any pain.

Until next time. GRACE & PEACE

A FRIDAY FUNNY

Will the wedding French ever be too much

for any special day

Little boy was in a relative’s wedding.

As he was coming down the aisle, he would take two steps, stop, and turn to the crowd.

While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and roar.

So it went, step, step, ROAR, step, step, ROAR, all the way down the aisle.

As you can imagine, the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard by the time he reached the pulpit.

When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said,

“I was being the Ring Bear.

Make someone smile today:)
