SATURDAY SYMPTOMS

What has now been witnessed by the world, the American Capital Building being over run on Wednesday. That was merely one of the symptoms of what the world now knows was long suppressed hatred and bigotry and intolerance of OTHERS by white america. Now you know a little of what, THE BLACK, THE BROWN AND THE YELLOW live with daily, in the white america.

Yesterday, several of my clients(Black men and women) were not surprised by the actions, the ability nor the ease by which entry was gained into the capital building. They echoed the same answer in perfect Ebonics, ‘Day white’!

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. II Timothy 4:3-4 (THE BIBLE)

What does INDEPENDENCE really mean?  We know what it means to a country but what does it mean to the individual?  Choices, freedom, living life as a free-spirit or is it interdependence?  How we are to live and behave toward our fellow man.  How are we to choose our individual INDEPENDENCE?

My country owes me nothing.  It gave me, as it gives every boy and girl, a chance.  It gave me schooling, independence of action, opportunity for service and honor.  In no other land could a boy from a country village, without inheritance or influential friends, look forward with unbounded hope.  ~~ Herbert Hoover

Memorial Day, originally Decoration Day on or about 1868, gradually came to be known as Memorial Day.  In the years following the Civil War, it honored only those who lost their lives while fighting in the Civil War.

But during World War I, the United States found itself embroiled in another major conflict, and the holiday evolved to commemorate American military personnel who died in all wars and became an official federal holiday in 1971.

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.  Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades.  Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
