Life Wisdom

With the recent onslaught against women and mothers,  just a little something I wanted to put out there.  I love Dr. Adrian Rogers and the following was taken from one of his writings.

‘ . . .  the incredible impact godly mothers and grandmothers have on their families—and on our society!

We are in difficulty today in America, like a ship lost at sea without a rudder or a compass, on a dark and stormy night.  The anchor is gone.  What is the anchor? It is motherhood, and there is a war against motherhood in America.  The result: immorality, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, militant feminism, juvenile delinquency, [and] all of this can be traced back to the homicide of the home that comes by the neglect of motherhood.”

Godly mothers and grandmothers truly are the anchor of the next generation.’

Are the mothers of today leaving a legacy of godliness as most of our Mothers, Moms, and MudDears of yesteryear?

Just something to think about?

HOPE-FULL

cropped-cropped-dew-drops-on-purple-flowers2.jpgI recently attended a two-day conference featuring Beth Moore, Christian writer, evangelist.  The preceding was attained from a booklet given to the attendees at the conference.  With the recent tragedies of young women in our city, I wanted to share this.  I pray that those that read this be blessed.  PEACE.

What is hope?  It is far more than wishes or dreams.  It is what gets you up in the morning and allows you to sleep at night.  It is what we stand on when the world is caving in and it seems as if our lives are falling apart.  It is the tenderness of a tear and the strength of steel.  Without hope it is difficult to breathe or stand or move.

How is your hope meter?  Could it be you have been disappointed so many times you have given up hope?  Has discouragement, pain or loss clouded your ability to see hope around you or in you?

Take a moment and answer that question honestly.

Hope is first a verb.  That’s great because I need it to act and take action in my life.  On what or whom do you place your hope?  If your hope is tethered to the stock market, your career, the stuff in your hope chest, or what is in a jar(of beauty cream or a sack of weave), it will fail you.  Lasting hope is only found in being tethered to the One who loves you most, the source of all hope—Jesus.  He will hold you, help you, rescue you, deliver you, and delight you(you’ve got to believe that).  He will never let you go or let you down.  He sees you, hears you, knows you, loves you—no matter what path you are on.  On the spiritual journey of your heart, only God can bring true hope.

Hope doesn’t come in jar(in a man, in drugs, in money, in children).  It’s found (only) in Jesus.

Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!  –Romans 15:13 (MSG)

Labor Day

Labor Day, the first Monday in September since 1894, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.  It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

This also marks a time when the children are back to school, the weather grows crisp in the evenings, and night falls earlier.   So goes days of summer-time slipping away all too soon.

Tree lined road at sunsetFor “all” those who work hard for the mon$y!!   Take this day in appreciation of all of your hard work that you do. Thank you!  Police men and women, firefighters, school teachers, nurses, bus drivers, sanitation workers, shop keepers, beauty industry workers, clergy men and women, counselors, doctors, lawyers, etc., etc.  The list is unending.

Procrastination

Did you know that procrastination is a sin?   I say that because sin is not merely doing wrong, it is failing to do what you ought to do.

Procrastination and disobedience are just different shades of the same sin. I heard a quote once that said it well:
“When you have a job to do,
Begin this very hour.
You supply the will,
God supplies the power.”

That is the will power we need to instantly obey!
